What is Adult Basic Education?
The Adult Basic Education program at Jones County Junior College offers to adults the opportunity to prepare for the high school equivalency exam (GED), college entrance, vocational-technical education, employment and promotion on the job. The Adult Basic Education program provides the opportunity to obtain basic knowledge of Math, Social Studies, Science, Career Opportunities, and Civic Preparation.

Who is eligible for the Adult Education Program?
The Adult Basic Education Programs are offered to adults who reside in the Jones County Junior College District. The district is comprised of: Clarke, Covington, Greene, Jasper, Jones, Perry, Smith and Wayne Counties.

Classes are offered in all of the 8 classes in the Jones County Junior College district.

What is the cost?
The Adult Education classes are free of charge. The cost to take the GED test is $40.00 for the entire test or $12.00 per section. The cost for the entire test for re-testers is $60.00.
