Dr. Jesse Smith - Jones County Junior College President
Jones County Junior College has filled my life and the lives of thousands of others with many rich, colorful memories. From the classrooms and ball fields to graduation ceremonies and beyond, Jones is an oasis of opportunity for all who enter.
It has been my distinct privilege to begin serving as the college's fifth president. As a first-time college president, I have been energized and humbled by the accomplishments of our students, our workforce, and our leaders who want to make a positive difference. As many of my presidential colleagues in this great state know, this is very rewarding and challenging work.
Our college district serves eight counties and nearly 200,000 individuals in 5,000 square miles. Tomorrow's leaders deserve a great place, close to home, where they can begin life's journey after high school. It is my goal to build upon the success of our past Jones presidents, board members, and faculty who work so hard to create the campus we have today.
The faculty and staff at Jones are truly a pleasure to work with each day. My wonderful wife and children have added to the many blessings I receive each day.
I hope that you can share with me the passions for success at Jones, where we do our best to inspire greatness in every student. I am truly looking forward to the road ahead.
