Advanced Technology Center Business Incubator
Business Incubation Center Criteria

Applicants are selected for the incubator program based on demonstration of potential benefit to the Jones County Junior College service area. All applicants will be evaluated according to the Incubation Center Criteria by the director of Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and the director of Advanced Technology Center (ATC), and final approval will be granted by the president of the college.
  1. A business plan is available that demonstrates the business will achieve self- sufficiency within two years. This business plan must be reviewed and approved by JCJC. The business plan includes:
    1. revenue generation
    2. technology-based products, systems, or services that are beyond the concept phase
    3. six months minimum of demonstrated business and financial stability
  2. Entrepreneurs currently operating from inadequate interim facilities such as home, garage, or storage shed
  3. Capable and motivated entrepreneur or entrepreneurial team
  4. Potential value to regional economic development in terms of employment, expansion of technology-based or creation of community wealth
  5. The following businesses or organizations will not be considered:
    1. Retail businesses
    2. Businesses currently operating from other facilities who propose only to continue their existing business with no anticipated plans of expansion
    3. Construction contractors
    4. Professional counselors such as accountants, attorneys, and financial planners
    5. Businesses whose primary job creation is commissioned sales, such as real estate and insurance
