Jones College Clubs and Organizations

Student clubs and organizations on the Jones College campus provide a well-rounded college experience, serving as the basis for great friendships and networking opportunities after graduation. Clubs and organizations also provide leadership skills and hands-on experience that benefit students as they continue their education or enter into the workplace. Jones College club titles and sponsors are listed below:

Agriculture

This club is only for students enrolled in the agriculture program. The Jones College Show Team is a group of committed individuals with an interest in raising and exhibiting livestock. The students involved are dedicated to the livestock show industry. Members will be given a hands-on opportunity by being responsible for the day-to-day care of the animals. This responsibility includes things such as halter breaking calves, feeding, fitting, and preparing for a show. The team members will gain valuable experiences that will prepare them for their future in the livestock industry.

Alpha Delta Nu (Nursing Honors)

The purpose of the Alpha Delta Nu Nursing Honor Society is to recognize the academic excellence of students in the study of Associate Degree Nursing. The society encourages the pursuit of advanced degrees in the profession of nursing, as well as continuing education as a life-long professional responsibility.

Art Club

We are attempting to rebuild the Art Club, as it was dormant during Covid, and after. Student leaders have been identified, and will be working to offer service hours through campus art projects.

Bobcat Brigade

The purpose of the Bobcat Brigade is to be the student recruiting organization for Jones College. Members will be involved in activities directly related to Enrollment. These student leaders may also serve as ambassadors for the college at Jones College events by fulfilling duties as hosts and hostesses. Members must be extremely dependable, have a friendly and outgoing personality, use good taste in dress and style, have a willingness to help others, have strong leadership qualities, and possess excellent communication skills. Members must also be free of disciplinary action, and have the ability to devote the time and effort to become a successful part of the Jones College student recruiting team.

Choir

Student club to support Choir. The Division of Fine Arts includes the areas of Art and Music and provides students with two years of preparation for professional performing or teaching careers in one of the many areas of art or music. Opportunities are provided for students from all divisions of the college to participate in numerous art and music organizations.

Bobcat Brigade

Engineering Society

This group is for Engineering Majors.  (Computer Science/Architecture/Construction Management majors also apply.) Historically we have participated in campus events and service projects.  We have dues of $25.  We are a student chapter of the MS Engineering Society and affiliated with National Society of Professional Engineers. Our meetings include presentations by local engineers.  We also have 1-2 field trips to Engineering Programs or Engineering Industries per year.

Honors College

To be eligible for the Charles Pickering Honors Institute, students must have a high school diploma or a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) and meet one of the following entrance requirements:*Graduate as the valedictorian or salutatorian.*Have a composite ACT score of 26 or higher with a high school GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4 point scale.*Have a cumulative Jones College GPA of 3.5 or higher, with a minimum of 15 credit hours, excluding college preparatory courses.

The Student Nurse Organization is Jones College's school chapter of MOSA. Students who join SNO are also members of the Mississippi Organization for Associate Degree Nursing Students. Students are invited to join SNO during their first semester enrolled in the Associate Degree Nursing program. The focus of the organization is fostering a spirit of community among associate degree nursing students.
