The Institute monitors active students at the end of each term to determine compliance with the program criteria. The following examples lead to an inactive status:
- A GPA lower than 3.0. If a student's GPA drops below 3.0, the student will have one semester to raise the GPA and remain in the Honors Institute.
- Students who have not taken an honors course for two consecutive semesters will be dismissed from the Institute.
