CHARLES PICKERING HONORS INSTITUTE
Honors Institute Admissions Information
To be eligible for the Charles Pickering Honors Institute, students must have a high school diploma or a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) and meet two of the following entrance requirements:
- Have an ACT composite of 26 or higher.
- Have a high school GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4 point scale, or 4.3 or higher on a 5 point scale.
- Place in the top 10% of high school graduating with an ACT composite score of 25.
- Have cumulative Jones County Junior College GPA of 3.5 or higher, with a minimum of 12 credit hours, excluding college preparatory courses
Students cannot simultaneously enroll in the Honors Institute and in a remedial course. Students must complete all remedial work prior to enrollment in the Honors Institute.
The Honors Institute will not accept students, or allow them to continue in the Institute, if there are five or more Jones withdrawals on the student’s transcript.
