This position is responsible for a variety of clerical and administrative tasks related to the receiving and crediting of member-consumer payments in conformance with approved accounting practices and procedures.
Reports To: Administration
and Finance Manager and Consumer Accounts Supervisor.
Assist in posting all types of updated information as it relates to member-consumers.
Scan and archive documents in the Vault system
Assist in performing all aspects of member-consumer collections, making deposits and processing daily reports. Communicates with consumers on due dates, cut off dates, etc.
Assist in collecting proxies for the annual meeting.
Assist in receiving and attempts to resend returned bills.
Assist in receptionist duties as needed.
Makes every effort to serve all member-consumers courteously and efficiently, to respond to their inquiries, satisfy their complaints and, if unable to do so, refer them to the proper person.
The Administration College Student shall be required to perform any other duties assigned in order to fulfill the objectives of the Association.
Member-Consumers: Responds to their inquiries and resolves problems or directs to supervisor or appropriate personnel
General Public: Maintains good relations in all contacts with the general public.

Job Knowledge, Training and Education: High school diploma/GED or equivalent is required. Seeking an associate’s degree in business, communication, education or a related field is required. Position is required to perform a variety of mathematical calculations in the completion of duties. Knowledge of English grammar is required so as to be able to communicate information to consumers.
Equipment Operated: Position requires the use of a personal computer and requires skills in Microsoft Word and Excel and software related to the position. Position utilizes calculators and other standard office equipment in the completion of duties. Must have a valid Mississippi driver’s license.
Abilities and Skills: Must be able to carry out a variety of activities which require a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Position requires on-going contact with member-consumers under various circumstances which require tact and diplomacy. Computer experience and operation of calculators by the touch system preferred.
Physical Effort: Must be able to perform the activities listed in the position description described. These activities are typically performed at a counter, desk or drive-in window; however, this position occasionally is required to stand or climb a ladder to access file cabinets or stored records, which may require lifting 25 pounds.
Working Conditions: Office environment. Irregular hours are possible due to the nature of the electric power industry. Some travel within the service territory may be required.
Regular and timely attendance for work is required.
