CHOCTAW – The North swept the South in the annual MACJC All-Star Basketball Games here Friday night at Choctaw Central High School.
In the women’s game, the North edged the South, 79-77. Jones County Junior College’s TeAnna Carter scored 11 points and Deanna Bolton added three for the South team. Carter is a sophomore from Wayne County and Bolton is a sophomore from Perry Central.
Northwest’s Cierra Thomas scored 15 points and was named the game’s MVP. The North led 48-27 at halftime.
In the men’s game, the North beat the South, 136-117. JCJC’s Brian Singleton scored 12 points and Corey Breland added four for the South team. Singleton is a sophomore from Ama, La., while Breland is a sophomore from Perry Central.
Coahoma’s Tensely Coleman scored 26 points and was named the game’s MVP. The North led 77-51 at halftime.
