DECATUR – The Jones County Junior College Lady Bobcats dropped a pair of 4-3 decisions to East Central Community College here Tuesday evening.
JCJC is now 6-20 on the year, 3-13 in the South Division. Jones goes to Hinds for a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Friday.
Lady Warriors 4, Lady Bobcats 3
JCJC scored twice in the top of the fourth inning, but the Lady Warriors came back with four runs in the bottom of the frame. Jones added a run in the sixth.
Shana Ladner homered for the Lady Bobcats, while Blaire Sumrall, Kasey McCann, Elisha Ray and Monica Shoemake added singles.
Katie Holifield went the distance and took the loss.
Leah Dennis doubled twice for ECCC, while Amy Sharp had a double and Britney Cochran singled. Amber Smith posted the victory.

East Central scored twice in the bottom of the seventh to win the game.
JCJC led 1-0 after one and went up 3-0 in the second when J.J. Taylor hit a two-run home run. ECCC put up a run in the fifth, one in the sixth and scored twice in the seventh.
Taylor homered and doubled for JCJC, while Brittney Arnold and McCann each doubled and singled. Katie Alderman and Ladner added singles.
Holifield pitched four innings for Jones and Falon Nettles tossed the final two-plus innings and was tagged with the loss.
Hannah Lee singled twice and doubled for ECCC, while Allison Phillips singled twice. Brandy Greer had a double and Sharp singled.
Erin Breland was the winning pitcher.
