RAYMOND – Jones County Junior College won a pair of softball games from Hinds Community College here Thursday afternoon.

JCJC rallied to beat the Lady Eagles 10-7 in the opener and won 9-2 in the nightcap.

In game one, Jones trailed 2-1 after one inning and 7-2 after three innings. But JCJC scored twice in the fourth and fifth innings and four times in the sixth to complete the comeback. Jones had 11 hits in the game, with Brittney Arnold and Katie Alderman getting doubles. Alderman added a pair of singles, while Kasey McCann singled three times. Shana Ladner singled twice. J.J. Taylor, Kristen McDonald and Kirsten Perry added singles.

In game two, Jones led 1-0 after one and 3-1 after three. The Lady Bobcats put the game away with five runs in the fourth and one more in the fifth. JCJC had eight hits in the contest. Megan Lee, Devin Darr and Dominique Evans each singled twice. Alderman and Ladner had one single each.

Katie Holifield was the winning pitcher in both games.

The Lady Bobcats are now 8-20 overall, 5-13 in the South Division. JCJC hosts Pearl River at 4 p.m. on Wednesday in their final home game of the season. They conclude the season with an 11 a.m. road doubleheader at Southwest on Saturday and a 4 p.m. road twinbill at Co-Lin on Monday, April 20.
