The Jones County Junior College Lady Bobcats ended the 2009 softball season with a pair of road doubleheaders.
Southwest 4-5, Jones 3-2
On Saturday, April 18, JCJC dropped a pair of games to Southwest Mississippi Community College.
The Lady Bears got a home run from Christina Hollins-Campbell in the bottom of the sixth inning to break a 3-3 tie and beat Jones, 4-3, in game one. Shana Ladner homered and singled for the Lady Bobcats, while Monica Shoemake singled twice. Kirsten Perry and Kasey McCann added singles. Katie Holifield went the distance and took the loss.
In game two, the Lady Bears posted a 5-2 victory. Ladner tripled and singled, while Devin Darr singled twice for Jones. Candace Leach had a double, while Jamesa “J.J.” Taylor, Elisha Ray and Dominique Evans added singles. Falon Nettles went the distance and took the loss.
Co-Lin 9-4, Jones 1-0
On Monday, April 20, the Lady Bobcats lost twice to the Co-Lin Community College Lady Wolves.
In game one, Co-Lin defeated Jones, 9-1 in six innings. Katie Alderman, McCann, Ray and Shoemake each singled for Jones. Holifield went the distance and took the loss.
The Lady Wolves won game two, 4-0. Perry doubled for JCJC, while Taylor, Ladner, Leach and Darr added singles. Nettles went the first four innings and was charged with the loss. Holifield pitched the final two innings.
JCJC ends the season at 10-26 overall, 5-19 in South Division play.
