ELLISVILLE – Former Jones County Junior College basketball standout Louis Richardson died of a heart attack last week at his home in Albuquerque, N.M.

Richardson, 34, starred for the Bobcats in 1994-95 and 1995-96. He then transferred to New Mexico State University and was a standout for the Aggies for two years, averaging 18.1 points and 6.4 rebounds per game and being named to the All-Big West Conference team both seasons.

The 6-foot-8 Richardson came to Jones from Moore High School in Louisville, Ky. He and Antoine Hubbard, a 5-foot-10 guard, were teammates at Jones and both transferred to New Mexico State.
