PEARL – Several Jones County Junior College signees performed well in the 3A/2A/1A and 5A/4A Crossroads Diamond Club All-Star Baseball Games here Saturday at Trustmark Park.

In the 3A/2A/1A game, Taylorsville teammates Tanner Ford and Billy Hamilton were honored. Ford, who has signed with JCJC as a catcher, had two singles and was named the South’s Best Offensive Player. Billy Hamilton, who is a football/baseball signee with the Bobcats, played shortstop, had a double and was named the South’s Most Valuable Player. Bobcat signee Andrew Pierce of Stringer had two singles and scored a run for the South. Pierce also pitched two innings.

The North overcame a 4-2, seventh-inning deficit with a run in the eighth and three in the ninth to post a 6-4 victory.

In the 5A/4A game, Pascagoula product and JCJC signee Graham Odom had a single and scored a run in the South’s 9-4 victory.

In addition, Billy Hamilton was named a first-team All-State performer by the Clarion-Ledger, while his cousin and Taylorsville teammate Darion Hamilton was named a second-team All-State player. Darion Hamilton is also a football/baseball signee for JCJC.
