ELLISVILLE – Jones County Junior College notched a pair of shutouts in soccer action here on a sunny Saturday at Bobcat Soccer Field.
In the women’s game, JCJC posted a 2-0 decision. In the men’s game, the Bobcats blanked the Lions, 4-0. Both Bobcat teams are now 7-2 on the season.
JCJC returns to South Division play on Tuesday at Gulf Coast. The women’s game begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by the men’s game at 7:30 p.m.
The Lady Bobcats got their first goal in the 33rd minute when Dana Ivey scored with Katie Alderman and Lanie Jenkins assisting. The second goal came in the 55th minute when EMCC knocked the ball into its own goal.
Madelyn Baucum was in goal for the Lady Bobcats. EMCC falls to 2-6-1.
In the men’s game, Jerret Chism scored in the 10th minute. Johnny Jones followed with a goal in the 52nd minute and Chism added another in the 61st minute. Josh Corley finished the scoring in the 81st minute.
Chris Moncivais, Zach Hagin, Patrick Coates and Julio Espinosa had assists for the Bobcats.
Nick Riso was in goal for Jones. The Lions drop to 4-7.
