RAYMOND – Hinds Community College edged Jones County Junior College 2-1 here Saturday in the men's MACJC Soccer Tournament semifinals.
The Eagles led 2-0 at halftime. The Bobcats got a goal from Patrick Coates on a penalty kick in the second half, but came up short.
The Bobcats end the season at 11-4.
Hinds, 10-5-1, will face Gulf Coast, 14-0-2, at 7 p.m. on Sunday for the state championship. Gulf Coast beat Northwest 2-1 in semifinal play on Saturday afternoon.
In the women's tournament Pearl River defeated Itawamba and Gulf Coast beat Hinds. Gulf Coast and Pearl River will play at 5 p.m. on Sunday for the title.
