ELLISVILLE- Today’s welders are highly skilled men and women. The regional metalworking industry needs skilled welders and craftsmen to compete in today’s global economy.
Jones County Junior College’s welding school will be holding an open house on Thursday, November 12 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. The welding school at JCJC is located in the Industrial Services Center building near the football field.
Industry leaders and educational leaders will be highlighting where the industry is headed and demonstrate how the technical nature of the business has evolved. The Lincoln Electric company will be demonstrating some of its equipment including the welding robot. JCJC welding instructors Clint James, Dwight Green and Jody Buchanan have each earned their master’s degrees and are Certified Welding Educators (CWE), and Certified Welding Inspectors (CWI). They are a select group of welding educators that are preparing students to be successful. JCJC graduates have an advantage in the industry because of their training and expertise. For more information call the JCJC welding school at 601-477-4177.
