A. General Comments
*Cramming is not the same as learning. If you rely on cramming, you
cheat yourself of true education.
*If you cram for mid-terms, you'll find out on the final that you
don't remember the information.
*Information stored during cramming is unavailable to the brain
after 1-2 days.
*Cramming is only to be used to make the best out of a bad
situation!
B. Make Choices
*Pick a few of the most important facts and elements of the course
and learn these backward, forward and upside down.
*Resist the temptation to go over everything lightly. You'll recall
none of it! Spend 25% of your time learning new material and
75% of your time drilling yourself on that material.
C. Make a Plan
*Choose what you want to study, determine how much time you have,
then set deadlines for yourself.
D. Use mind map review sheets and flash cards.
E. Recite over &
over-recitation can burn facts into your brain like
nothing else can! Record yourself calling out facts and play the
tape in your car.
F. Relax! This helps reduce anxiety before & after the test.
G. Don't "should" on
yourself. Lighten up! You are human!
