COMMERCIAL TRUCK DRIVING ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

APPLICANT MUST:

  1. Complete an Application For Admission to the college.
  2. An official high school transcript or copy of GED scores is required. Students without a high school diploma or GED must pass an "Ability to Benefit" test. (Call 601-477-4079 to schedule test.)
  3. Have an application for admission to the Commercial Truck Driving program on file in the Career/Technical Dean's Office.
  4. Applicant must be 21 years of age. Proof of age (such as copy of driver's license) must be on file in the Career/Technical Dean's Office.
  5. Copy of official driver's record. Student must have a satisfactory driving histroy for the past three years.

After notification of acceptance, the following must be submitted prior to the beginning of class.

  1. Copy of DOT physical examination on file in the Career/Technical Dean's Office. The college has contracted with MEA Clinic in Laurel for this screening. For more information, call 601-477-4075.
  2. Copy of DOT drug screening on file in Career/Technical Dean's Office. The college has contracted with MEA Clinic in Laurel for this screening. For more information, contact the Dean's Office.
  3. A Commercial Driver's License Permit (CDLP) on file in the Career/Technical Dean's Office. For more information, contact the Dean's Office.
