How To Enroll

Welcome to Jones County Junior College!  To enroll in the Cosmetology Program, you will need to complete a few basic steps for enrollment.  We hope that you will find everything that you need here concerning admissions to JCJC.

Step 1. The applicant must be 18 years of age by application deadline date (third Friday in June) for the cosmetology program.

Step 2. Furnish a transcript from an accredited high school indicating a regular diploma and the date awarded or acceptable GED scores.

Step 3. Furnish transcripts indicating any non high school, college, or clock hour credit.

Step 4. Submit an Application for Admission to the College through the Office of Admissions and Records.

Step 5. Submit a completed Cosmetology application packet obtained from Career and Technical Dean's Office.

Step 6. Have an 11.0 functional grade level score on the TABE administered at JCJC within the last twelve months.

Step 7. Complete all the above requirements by the third Friday in June.

Applicants who have adequate test scores and complete application packets will be advised of a time and date to appear before an Interview Committee. Interviews will be conducted with the Cosmetology Instructor and craft committee members. The Interview is an important part of the selection process, so the applicant should dress as though going for a job interview. Applicants will be notified in writing as to the result of their interview.
