Applicant must:
Meet all admission requirements of JCJC Vocational Programs.
1. Be at least 18 years of age by application deadline date (third Friday in June) for Cosmetology Program.
2. Furnish a transcript from an accredited high school indicating a regular diploma and the date awarded or acceptable GED scores.
3. Furnish transcripts indicating any non high school, college, or clock hour credit.
4. Submit application for admission to the College through the Office of Admissions and Records.
5. Submit completed Cosmetology application packet obtained from Career and Technical Counseling Office.
6. Have an 11.0 functionality grade level score on the TABE administered at JCJC within the last twelve months.
7. Complete all the above requirements listed by the third Friday in June. Applicants who have adequate test scores and complete application packets will be advised of a time and date to appear before an Interview Committee. Interviews will be conducted with the Cosmetology Instructor and craft committee members. The Interview is an important part of the selection process, so the applicant should dress as though going for a job interview. Applicants will be notified of the results of their interview in writing. The maximum number of students admitted to the Jones County Junior College Program each year is 20.
