AUTOMATION AND CONTROL EMPHASIS
The Automation and Control Technology option in Electronics Technology prepares
students to be technical specialists with broad-based electro-mechanical skills who
are familiar with electronic and mechanical systems that make up robotic, computer
numerical control, or processing equipment and can set up and interface machines with
programmable logic controllers (PLC's) that work together as part of a total automated
system. Upon completion of the two-year program of study, the student will be awarded
an Associate in Applied Science degree in Electronics Technology.

*Technical Electives to complete the Automation and Control Emphasis:
EET 1343 Motor Controls
EET 2363 Programmable Logic Controllers
EET 1174 Fluid Power Systems
INT 2114 Control Systems I
ROT 1113 Fundamentals of Robotics

ROT 1313 Industrial Robotics
ROT 2413 Automated Manufacturing Controls
ROT 2423 Servo Controls Systems
EET 291(1-3) Special Projects

COMPUTER SERVICING EMPHASIS
The Computer Servicing Technology option in Electronics Technology prepares
graduates to install, maintain and repair microcomputers and peripheral equipment.
The program builds on a strong base of electronic theory with specialized courses in
microcomputer hardware and software. Upon completion of the two-year program of
study, the student will be awarded an Associate in Applied Science degree in Electronics
Technology.

*Technical Electives to complete the Computer Servicing Emphasis:
IST 1124 IT Foundations
IST 1134 Fundamentals of Data Communications
EET 1233 Computer Servicing Lab I
EET 2233 Computer Servicing Lab II
IST 1224 Network Components
IST 1213 Client Install Configuration
EET 291(1-3) Special Projects

* The Technical Elective is to come from courses with the prefix EET, IST, or 3 hours of Work-Based Learning.

** Social/Behavioral Science Elective must be chosen from the following social behavioral courses:
GEO 1113, HIS 1113, HIS 1123, HIS 2213, PSC 1113, PSY 1513, OR SOC 2113.
