EMT-BASIC PROGRAM INFORMATION

In Order for applicants to qualify for the EMT-Basic Program, they must have successfuly meet the criteria required by the Department of Transportation.  Applicants must also meet other admissions criteria required by either the MS Department of Health of Emergency Technology of Jones Junior College.

The Emergency Medical Technology Program at Jones County Junior College provides EMT-Basic Traning for the qualified applicants. The program adhears to the Department of Transportation's National Standard Curriculum for EMT-Basics and consists of 128 classroom hours and five life threatening ambulance runs at one of the programs selected clinical sites.

The EMT-Basic program begins each fall and spring semester and runs continuously for one full semester.  The classroom portion of the class is conducted on the JCJC campus on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 5:00pm - 10:00pm and one Monday night a month from 5:00pm - 10:00pm.
