||||||
| The meeting was called to order by President Steve Barnett. Mr Barnett expressed thanks to the directors from Jones Junior College for furnishing the tryout music. He urged that the tryout requirements be followed as specified and that tryouts would begin at 8:00pm on January 25 [1995]. | ||||||
| Kathryn Lindberg will pick up Dr. David Waybright upon his arrival in Memphis. | ||||||
| The President gave a brief overview of the selections Dr. Waybright will program with the All-State Band. | ||||||
| Mr. Barnett requested each director to bring one (1) stand per student. | ||||||
| The directors were given two handouts: one concerning All-State housing arrangements, the orhter pertains to All-State Band selecton. Please refer to these two handouts for detailed information on housing and All-State Band selection. The All-State Band will be selected utilizing the Community College Network from 2:00 - 4:00pm on Friday January 13, 1995. | ||||||
| The president discussed the use of the CCN on January 13 to select the All-State Band. He insisted the list of students nominated be in to him no later than noon Friday January 13, 1995. | ||||||
| The same instrumentation and number previously used for the All-State Band will be continued for this 1995 All-State Clinic Band. On Monday January 16, following the selection a list of the All-State Band will be faxed to all the directors. | ||||||
| Jeff Brown introduced changes in percussion tryout procedures and requirements, specifically related to auxiliary percussion. After discussion the president suggested these tryout changes be tabled until the meeting in January at the clinic. | ||||||
| Maurice Kelly asked that reservations for clinic housing be completed by January 17, if possible. | ||||||
| Meri Maloy discussed the possibility of selecting personnel from flute tryouts to perform piccolo parts. | ||||||
| Mr. Barnett suggested this be handled in flute tryout with the judge/judges indicating the personnel selected. | ||||||
| Jeff Brown made the motion to adjourn. Randy Mapes seconded the motion. | ||||||
| The next meeting will be at the MJCCB Association State Clinic at Delta State University. | ||||||
