Spring Meeting 2002

The meeting was called to order by Tom Carson. A motion was made and passed to dispense with the reading of the minutes. Many words of thanks and appreciation were lifted by brother Carson in regard to the faculty and students at MSU and to our association members for their help making the honor band a success. |
||||||
| Tryout music will come from the A list. A motion was made by Shaw and seconded by Stanley to have the honor band at Delta State in 2003. Clinician prospects include Arnold Gabriel, Jack Stamp and Timothy Mahr. | ||||||
| Shaw Furlow was nominated for the position of secretary by Todd and second by Tracy. He was approved by acclamation. Kyle brought us a report on the by-laws. Tom was lauded for his work as president and the fall meeting was set for Hinds. | ||||||
|
A discussion then ensued about auditions and the quality
of music for audition. It was decided that we would look at A music
before the fall meeting and make changes needed then. Tom agreed to
mail out tryout A.

| Mark Camphouse spoke to the group and praised the quality of our students both for their musicality and their work ethic. A motion was made to adjourn and we did. | ||||||

| HOTEL ROOMS FOR THE CLINIC We are checking on rooms at the Comfort Inn and the Hampton Inn. The properties are side by side. The cost we be app. 52.00 per night quad with one comp room for the clinician. | ||||||
