| 1. Clinic site: USM | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| MSU is still not ready to host our clinic band. Suggestion was made to travel to Hattiesburg again. Kyle Hill will contact Southern Miss. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 2. Clinician: Gary Cook | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Gary Cook will be the clinician. Since clinic dates have been changed, Mr. will be contacted to make sure he is available. No alternate plan for clinician was discussed | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 3. Clinic date: February 8-10. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Thomas Fraschillo will be contacted to make sure February 8-10 will work. Starting time for first rehearsal was changed to 6:00 p.m. (Motion made and passed by members present to move first rehearsal from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm). Possible rehearsal site will be St. Thomas. Possible concert time will be at 12 noon or 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 10. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| 5. MJCCBA clinic auditions: Thursday, January 18, 2007 beginning at 3:00 p.m. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Motion made and passed to change audition location to Hinds Community College in Raymond. The audition date that was motioned and approved by all members present is Thursday, January 18, 2007 beginning at 3:00 p.m. Please e-mail Shane Sprayberry jssprayberry@hindscc.edu if your group plans to eat dinner in the Hinds cafeteria. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 6. Audition music: Todd Hill to compose music. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Todd Hill will compose 16 bars of melodic and technical music that is idiomatic to each instrument. Individual judges will again be in charge of sight reading. Todd Hill mentioned that he did not wish to be paid for this music. Kyle Hill made motion that Todd be paid $300 for composing music. David Dueitt suggested this may be too little and pay could be bumped up more. John Taylor made motion to pay 25 cents per beat (vigorous laughter ensued) | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Archie Rawls suggested that the MJCCBA opening meeting be changed to the Friday after Labor Day Holiday. Official motion was made by Jeff Brown; Meri Newell, second. Motion passed by members present. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
