PHY 1213 - Survey of Physics

Lectures and demonstrations covering classical and modern physics. Two hours lecture and two hours laboratory per week. Three semester hours credit.

PHY 2244 - Physical Science I

The purpose of this course is to give the student an opportunity to acquire a general knowledge of matter and energy in the universe; their sources, transformation, and interactions; the forces acting within the universe; and the laws associated with these phenomena. Three hours of lecture and two hours of laboratory per week. Four semester hours credit.

PHY 2254 - Physical Science II

The topics treated are elementary and compound substances; the arrangement of and forces acting on these substances in the formation of the earth, atmosphere, and the universe. Three hours lecture and two hours laboratory per week. Four semester hours credit.

PHY 2414 - General Physics I

Prerequisite: MAT 1323, or concurrently enrolled. The purpose of this course is to give the student an opportunity to acquire a general knowledge of the major divisions of elementary physics and to serve as a foundation for more advanced courses. The topics treated are mechanics, vectors, forces, work, energy, heat, and sound. Three hours lecture and two hours laboratory per week. Four semester hours credit.

PHY 2424 - General Physics II

Prerequisite: PHY 2414. Topics treated are magnetism, work, motion, light, electricity, electrical circuits, and modern physics. Three hours lecture and two hours laboratory per week. Four semester hours credit.

PHY 2515 - General Physics IA

Prerequisite: MAT 1815, or concurrently enrolled. Taught with the aid of calculus. A study of mechanics, heat, and sound. Primarily for engineering, science, and mathematics students. Four hours lecture and two hours laboratory per week. Five semester hours credit.

PHY 2525 - General Physics IIA

Prerequisite: PHY 2515. A study of magnetism, electricity, light, and modern physics. Four hours lecture and two hours laboratory per week. Five semester hours credit.

EGR 2413 Engineering Mechanics (Statics)
