Academic Scholarships

Presidential Scholarship
- Awarded to in-state Valedictorians and Salutatorians with a composite ACT score of 21 or higher.

The Presidential scholarship covers tuition, housing fees, and $500 per semester towards fees/books. An optional meal ticket is available for commuters. Scholarship must be accepted for fall semester immediately following high school graduation.


Academic Excellence
- Full-tuition scholarships awarded to top students in the graduating class of Mississippi high schools. Scholarships available per schools, based on Mississippi High School Activities Association classifications, are:
6A- top 6 students
5A- top 5 students
4A- top 4 students
3A- top 3 students
2A & 1A- top 2 students
Academies- MHSAA classification most closely fitting enrollment.
Scholarships must be accepted for the fall semester immediately following high school graduation.


ACT Scholarship
21-22 – Quarter tuition per semester
23-25 – One-half tuition per semester
26-28 – Full tuition per semester
29+ - Full tuition, $500 per semester towards fees/books, and ½ Room and Board for students choosing to live on campus.

*29+ and Honors Institute scholarships can be combined. $500 credit for Honors can be applied to housing for students choosing to live on campus. An optional meal ticket is available for commuters.

**ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS may NOT be combined. (Student may accept only one). Scholarships are good for four (4) semesters. Scholarships cannot be redeemed for cash value or distributed as a refund.

***PRESIDENTIALS and HONORS recipients must maintain a 3.0 GPA in 15 semester hours to remain eligible. All other scholarship recipients must maintain a 2.5 GPA in 15 semester hours. Exceptions on semester hours may be made for students in certain CTE programs.


CTE

Career and Technical
One full tuition scholarship is awarded to one Mississippi student at each of the nine Jones County Junior College district vocational–technical centers, based on the high school vocational-technical counselor’s recommendation. Students who qualify for this scholarship must accept it during the fall semester immediately following high school graduation. Failure to do so will cause the student to forfeit the scholarship.

Contracts
A contract must be signed for academic scholarships.  To obtain a copy of the contract you may complete the scholarship contract above.

Institutional scholarships cannot exceed institutional costs. Scholarships may be reduced based on Federal Financial Aid guidelines as well as state and local policies. The board reserves the right to change any and all fees at any point in the semester.
