Reggie Richardson
Richardson is also familiar to Jones. He began his college baseball career at JCJC where he earned All-State and All-Region 23 honors as the starting second baseman for the Bobcats during the 1996-97 seasons. His coaching career also started at Jones as graduate assistant baseball coach in 2000, and in 2001, he helped to recruit the 2002 state champs and regional runner-up team.
“I’m excited about the opportunity to be able to coach at my alma mater,” Richardson said. “I've always wanted to come back.”
Richardson served two years as pitching coach at Pearl River Community College. Prior to his stint there, he served as the head baseball coach at Northeast Lauderdale High School, where he led his team to the 2005 District 5-4A championship, earning him district coach of the year honors. Richardson was the assistant baseball coach at East Central Community College for the 2003 and 2004 seasons. He was the head baseball coach at Southeast Lauderdale High School in 2002.
The Stonewall native graduated from Enterprise High School in 1995. Upon graduation from Jones, he transferred to William Carey University where he was the starting shortstop for the 1998 and 1999 seasons. While at Carey, he compiled a .345 batting average, 18 home runs and 86 RBIs, earning him All-Gulf Coast Athletic Conference honors. Richardson played one season of independent professional baseball in the Texas-Louisiana League in 2000.
The 31-year-old earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education with a minor in social studies from William Carey University in 1999 and a master’s degree in teaching from the University of West Alabama in 2004. Richardson and his wife, Blair, have one son, Cole.
Dusty Holifield
Dusty Holifield is entering his second year as assistant coach of the JCJC Baseball team.
This is his tenth year as Instructor in the Business Division where teaches Accounting and Economics classes. He graduated from West Jones High School in 1993 playing baseball for four years. He graduated from Jones County Junior College in 1995 playing baseball here two years. Holifield graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1997 with a Bachelors degree in Accounting and 1998 with a Master of Professional Accountancy degree. He completed additional Graduate work in Economics from Mississippi State University.
Prior to coming to JCJC he worked in Public Accounting for two years. Dusty is married to the former Christy Evans of Laurel. They have a son, Evan, and a daughter, Jaycee.
