WORK BASED LEARNING/CO-OP ELIGIBILITY

Criteria
for Immediate Eligibility
- Students who have completed a secondary
Career and Technical program and/or participated in co-op.
- Students who return to the educational system from
the workplace.
Criteria for
Enrollment and Participation
To be eligible for participation in the Work-Based
Learning/Co-op program, students must:
- Be enrolled in a technical or academic program at
JCJC.
- Have a minimum overall grade point average of 2.0 (C)
and recommendation from an advisor.
- Submit an application and a resume.
- Have completed 12 semester hours.
- Be in good standing with the college.
To remain in the program, a student must:
- Remain in good standing with the college.
- Maintain his/her academic performance.
- Meet any job-related requirements set by
participating employers.
- Meet attendance requirements set by the school and
the job attendance set by the employer.
- Attain the required skill competencies at an
acceptable level as outlined in Education/Training Agreement.
- Meet with the Work-Based Learning/Co-op Coordinator
periodically in order to maintain a folder of activities for the
semester.
- Meet with the advisor and the Work-Based
Learning/Co-op Coordinator every grading period to review progress.
Students are responsible for their own transportation to
and from the work site and their own insurance coverage while in transit.
