TRAINEES ARE REQUIRED TO RELOCATE AND/OR TRAVEL AS NEEDED BY THE COMPANY
Primary Functions:
- To develop managerial and leadership skills while becoming knowledgeable about the poultry industry, Sanderson Farms, Inc., and its various divisions and maintenance positions.
- Training for and performing duties of division maintenance personnel including, but not limited to, maintenance supervisor, clean-up supervisor and maintenance superintendent.
Major Responsibilities:
- Developing effective management and leadership skills necessary to perform maintenance functions.
- Become proficient in the company’s methods of operation and familiar with the goals and policies of the company and the divisions and their interrelationship.
- Perform staff or managerial position duties as assigned to maintain maximum efficiency in the maintenance departments, and do so in accordance with current position descriptions for those jobs/duties.
- Perform those specific special assignments as may be required in an accurate and timely manner.
Key Working Relationships:
- Reports to the Corporate Processing Manager who provides general supervision
and policy guidance concerning priorities as well as specific assignments. - Maintains close working relationship with all supervisors concerning maintenance of all plant equipment.
- Maintains close working relationship with hourly maintenance employees concerning maintenance and upkeep of plant equipment.
- Works with other individuals and groups internally and externally as required to contribute to corporate objectives and foster corporate relationships.
Position Requirements:
A) Academic:
- Two-year associate’s degree in a technical field
B) Personal:
- Identifies with values, philosophy and mission of Sanderson Farms, Inc.
- Ability to conceptualize, communicate, adapt to and perform various and different maintenance functions within the corporate structure.
- Reside within a 30-minute radius of worksite.
C. Physical:
Must be able to:
- Lift items weighing 50 lbs.
- Remain on their feet for 8 hours at a time
- Bend at the waist, squat, and reach overhead
- Work in cold temperatures as low as -10˚ F.
- Work outside during summer temperatures
- Work in wet conditions
- Work in dusty conditions
- Tolerate exposure to [chemicals, e.g. formaldehyde; noise, feathers, live chickens] within OSHA limits
- Travel as needed by the company and willing to relocate to meet company needs
