RESTORING SMALLTOWN AMERICA

Jones College is developing a project that will have a significant impact on hometown communities throughout the southeastern United States. By renovating an existing building on the Ellisville campus, Jones College is poised to enhance the education of future students in construction, design, and building trades. This initiative is made possible through a collaboration with Erin and Ben Napier, stars of the HGTV show Home Town and alumnus Jones College (2004).

In the seventh episode of season eight of Home Town, Erin and Ben Napier generously agreed to give Jones College the naming rights to the newly established Erin and Ben Napier School of Design and Building Arts. This school aims to establish a new foundation for education in construction, design, and building trades, providing Mississippians with the essential skills to construct and reconstruct small towns across America. Additionally, Jones College intends to design this new school as a replicable model, creating opportunities for small town revitalization nationwide.

PURPOSE

The purpose of the Jones College Erin and Ben Napier School of Design and Building Arts is to address the workforce gap of skilled building designers, carpenters, and craftspeople that are needed to restore and preserve small towns across Mississippi.

TRAINING CRAFTSMEN AND ARTISANS

Programs at this facility will expand upon current Jones College programs such as: Computerized Design, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Civil Engineering, Framing, Roofing, HVAC, and Electrical.

This facility will also facilitate new Jones College programs such as: Masonry, Metalworking, Plastering, Stonework, and Carpentry.

INTRODUCING THE CONSTRUCTION RESIDENTIAL MAINTENANCE PROGRAM

The Construction Residential Maintenance Program is a innovative program offered by Jones College that will equip students with a working knowledge in every aspect of the construction process. These skills include the following: Framing, Roofing, HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Foundations, and Carpentry.
