Early Registration for Summer/Fall 2018 begins March 21, 2018

Jones offers several types of registration throughout the year. All students must register to schedule classes and settle tuition and fees with the business office.

This page provides information on each type of registration and offers dates, times, and locations for students.

If you have a Jones Username and Password, take advantage of Self Registration on the myJONES Portal.

New Students Registration

Individuals that have not yet attended Jones for college credit should visit the New2Jones section of the website. Future students are strongly encouraged to follow the checklist for admissions before coming to registration. This ensures all necessary paperwork is complete before classes begin.

Early Registration for New Students -
New Students should begin the registration process by completing an Application for Admission.  Upon receiving an activated Jones ID number, students may make an appointment to register and may access the MyJones portal.

Summer 2018:To enroll in summer only classes, please call the Recruiting Office at 601-477- 4116 to schedule an appointment. Enrollment for summer begins March 21.

Fall 2018: classes, new students are required to make an appointment for Jones UpCloseJones UpClose is a half-day program designed to welcome new students to the Jones community. The carefully planned sessions provide resources and information that will be particularly helpful during the student’s first months on campus. During the session you will learn about campus technology resources, be assigned to an academic coach, meet with a faculty advisor in preparation for registering for classes, get your Jones ONE Card and learn about JCJC's traditions! You will leave Jones UpClose with a class schedule for the upcoming semester.

Traditional Registration for New Students
New Students who miss Jones UpClose must attend Traditional Registration on May 24 for summer or August 16 for fall classes.

Transfer & Previous Jones Students – Early Registration

The Student Success Center (SSC), located in the Library will offer early registration for classes to students who have been enrolled previously, transfer students or students wishing to enroll in evening classes only, students wishing to enroll in online classes only, and students wishing to enroll part- time beginning March 21, 2018. Advisement Specialists are available to make class schedules with students. To schedule an appointment, contact the Recruiting Office at (601) 477-4116.

Be sure to complete the checklist for Transfer or Returning Students located on the website. The SSC is available to offer assistance during this process.

eLearning Registration (Online Classes)

Students wishing to enroll in online classes ONLY may register by phone through the Student Success Center (SSC) 601-477-4257.

Evening Classes Registration

Students wishing to enroll in evening classes ONLY may register by phone through the Student Success Center (SSC) 601-477-4257.

Traditional Registration

Students who have not completed all steps of early registration must register during traditional registration. Tuition and fees are due at this time or students must set up a payment plan with the Business Office. A JCJC Student ID # and an official ACT score are necessary to complete registration.

Fall 2018

August 16, 2018 between 9:00am and 12:00pm in the Student Success Center.

*An OFFICIAL ACT score is required for registration.

Late Registration

After Traditional Registration dates close, late registration students should report to the Student Success Center Tisdale Library between the hours of 12p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on August 16, 2018. An advisement specialist will assist with class scheduling.

No registration for fall classes will be allowed after the end of the day August 17, 2018.

Drop/Add Classes

Students may withdraw/add classes free of charge via the JC Portal anytime between pre-registration and the beginning of classes. Students who process course changes through the Student Success Center will be charged a $20 fee for each schedule change. Beginning the first day of class, students wanting to make course changes must meet with an Advisement Specialist in the Student Success Center to process the transaction.

NOTE: Students will be charged a $20 drop/add fee per transaction for making schedule changes beginning on the first day of class.

Current Students – Early Registration

Early registration for current students will be held beginning March 21 and ending August 14, 2018. Students must make an appointment via email to meet with his/her advisor. The advisor will help the student with class selection, remove the negative service indicator and enroll the student in classes.

Student account balances must be paid in full at the Business Office in order to register for classes.

Students will be required to verify payment arrangement through myJONES before the schedule will become active.
Students who miss early registration must attend Traditional Registration on August 16.
