Online classes are an exciting and convenient way to earn college credit. Online classes at Jones College are managed by The Office of eLearning located in the Academic Support Building on campus.
For a list of online courses available through Jones College go to http://class-search.jcjc.edu/. For a list of online courses available through the Mississippi Virtual Community College,
go to https://sbcjcweb.sbcjc.cc.ms.us/ET/selfservice/.
Both traditional and online classes provide the same course content. Online classes require an extra amount of self-motivation, time discipline, and independent work. The flexibility provided by online courses accommodates busy lives. Weigh the pros and cons of an online versus a more structured, traditional class setting.
Follow the instructions to log in to Canvas and find your course. Classes are available in Canvas on the first scheduled day of the semester.
Attendance is taken weekly as assignments are also completed on a weekly basis. Check the syllabus in your course for details. After the third absence, you will be dropped from the course.
Correspond with the online instructors through the Jones email system. For questions or assistance with email contact the IT Helpdesk at firstname.lastname@example.org or (601) 477-4160.
Quizzes and exams are taken online, except for 2 - 3 proctored exams per course that are required to be taken in a proctored testing lab.
